Bwired on Twitter (with API)

Post by Bwired »

I guess you all know what Twitter http://www.twitter.com does [:)], otherwise see below:

I have created a small VB program interfacing with the Twitter webservice (API) and retrieving XML's files etc.
http://apiwiki.twitter.com/REST+API+Documentation

My Home Automation (Domotica) system can now send messages for all kind of events to Twitter.
For example if somebody call my frontdoor a Twitter message is send with a URL to the picture my system has taken of that person.

This is my Twitter Url http://twitter.com/bwired

What is twitter?
Twitter is a service for friends, family, and coworkers to communicate and stay
connected through the exchange of quick, frequent answers to one simple question: What are you doing?

How do I use it?
Tell us what you're doing in 140 characters or less!
Send your thoughts, observations, and goings-on in your day.
Whether you're "eating an apple" or "looking foward to the weekend" or "Heading out of town" it's twitter-worthy. Join us here.

Do I need anything special to use Twitter?
In order to use Twitter you will need one of these things: an internet connection or a mobile phone.

Although its fun to connect stuff, i really dont see twitter as "wow" i mean i'am not going to write an update that i go to the loo or something like that :) you have your weblog, i rather read that. I was wondering to use it, can have it on my iphone too, but i also have a wordpress app on my iphone for my blog so i'am not yet "pulled".. but thats just my opinion. But besides that nice work as always.

I was thinking the same in the beginning and yes I don't want to know If you are taking a leak.
But for a closed group it's nice to know when the police has arrived :-)
and for example If you are in Barcelona, you can quickly send nice links etc.

Regarding Domotica : For a closed group (wife and children), You can for example see the status of my house.
There are some nice options, and I'm following some interesting people with good ideas etc.
