Update on the ITHO ECO-FAN:
I still had the ITHO ecofan Perlilex version.
This version can be controlled wireless with the additional 868 MHz remote control and the existing wired (3 position) wall outlet.
This week I replaced the Perilex connector with a standard connector, Adjusted the wall outlet to a normal one.

Now its possible for me the measure the powerusage with a Plugwise circle.

The Itho Eco-fan is beyond expectations using:
2.2 watts in position 1 (default)
7.0 watts in position 2
40 watts in position 3

Now I can only control the Eco-fan with the remotes, one is placed in the bathroom replacing the old manual controller.
And one is connected to my home automation system and can be switched on based on humidity, Temperature or any other reading.
Switching off can be done the same way, to determine if the Eco-fan is on I can now use the plugwise circle and check the energy usage (>=4 watts is on)

I would rather like to create a potential free switch on the Itho Eco-fan to see id its on or off. But this is not that easy , any help on this would be appreciated.

This is one off the better energy saving projects last year minimal benefit of 30 watts per hour.

I have also the Itho on my list for this year.
saving of 250KWh is lot for one device.

Will also go for 2 Rf 868 remotes. One for in the bathroom other connected to Homeseer via RFXIO

How did you replace the perilex with a regular one? (any schematics?) is this possible with every fan?
I have the feeling mine is using alot.. and it's on the whole day/night.

Yes the older house-ventilators (fan) take a lot of energy, that for sure.
This one is so green, that I adjusted the rotation speed for position 1 otherwise the plugwise circle is having trouble measuring the energy and keeps on going to zero 30 times an hour.

Below is the Perilex, What is I did is:

• Replaced the Perilix outlet with a normal outlet and only connected Brown (L1), Blue (N) and Green(PE) (so normal 230 volt settings)
• Removed the the connector from the Home ventilator 230 volts cable
• Cut away all the smaller cables (other colors) except for the Brown (L), Blue (N) and Green one
• Apply a normal 230 volt connector to the cable

This applies for the ITHO ECO-Fan, I'm not sure if it applies for all other Fans.
But for all other (non wireless controlled) ventilators this modification is not an option, otherwise how are you controlling it

Could you tell us how you did this?

The remote controller for the ITHO Ecofan is connected to the:
RFXIO and the Poseidon 3468 controller (testing purposes)
You just need one , IPpower will do too

@Enver, the Itho box is only for indoor use.
There are a few thinks you can do.
- Is there space inside you home where you can mount the box if yes then you can remove the outdoor rooffan and insert a normal pipe on it.
- replace the old fan for a stork-air VPMe fan or something like this (this have a 0-10Vdc rpm control)

What for air flow is the old fan?

Like Enver mentioned there is a ITHO ECO-FAN for outside type CVD-ECO-FAN

It took a while but i got one installed this week I really like the fact you can control the speed for mode 1 and mode 3 ... The old fan was was about 10 years old and very noisy. Why did I wait so long ....

And a big power reduction i guess.

I replaced my old fan (with Perilex plug) with an Orcon MVS 10GP fan (also Perilex plug).
I made my own remote control for this which can be controlled with devices like Klik-Aan-Klik-Uit or X10.

Normally the fan runs in low vertilation mode (1; 4W) and a few hours a day I switch on the ventilation to high ventilation mode (3; 31W).
This is done by connecting a relais-switch between 2 perilex-points that switch to mode 3.
The relais is switched on by putting 220V on the relais (The relais takes less than 1 W). So, now I can switch to mode 3 using a Klik-Aan-Klik-Uit module.

The same principle can probably be done with all ventilation units that have 3 modes.

To use the outside-temperature efficently I switch on mode 3 (high ventilation) in specific timezones.
In the winter I ventilate more during daytime and in the summer I ventilate all night to cool down the house.

Hi Dear Friends, i'm looking for some info. i need a mech. ventilation system MULTIROOM. the ITHO products suck air from room to external exaust. I need something that blows air from external to internal . I'm not mad , i want to connect it to my solar air panel (see my post).
