Panels are looking good!

As for the meter I thought only the ones with the spinning disc will turn backward.
http://www.solar-net.nl/zonnepanelen/Meters-sp-7.html (dutch link) shows a few types but probably not the one you are using.

Is it an idea that everybody with a PV System monthly posts the yield of their system in Kwh/Kwp so we can compare the systems.
We can do this on the Domoticaworld Page (The one with google maps)

You can have a look at this document:
kema.com/Images/Uitgegeven%20metercodes ... zicht).pdf

You can also just try after installing the panels. Just shut down all groups except the one for the solarpanels.
If it doesn't turn back, call your energysupplier and tell them you have installed solarpanels. Probably they will offer you to change your meter for one with "teruglevertelwerken" for free (they don't like old feraris-meters because they can't measure how much you "saldeert" ).

If you only call them asking to change the meter they will probably charge you for that.

My meter needs to be replaced and looks a bit the same as harry's meter
Enexis will do this free of costs, they will call me within 10 days, and it can be the following model

- Ampy 5527C
- Actaris ACE3000
- Iskra ME171
- Kamstrup

enexis.nl/zelfenergieproduceren/mediath ... rmeter.jsp
Now i need to be sure that i can hook it up again to rfxcom or use a pulsecounter

Measuring the benefits of the sunpanels

Post by Verkenner »

Hi Peter, strongly recommended:
Ask Enexis for a smart meter that can be interfaced with Plugwise ;-)
Ask Plugwise what Smart meter (with P1-port) can be interfaced with Plugwise systems ;-)

The new products from Plugwise can read the P1-port from the Smart meters.
Plugwise energymanagementsystem is comming.

Yes, i'm analyzing the smartmeters.
Enexis is telling me what I get depends on what is in stock with the engineer.
So i will talk to the engineer, would be nice to have an extra P1 port.
The minimal requirement is that it has a blinking LED :-)
But it would be better to read via P1 or other connector and get all the counters (day/night and solar)

Measuring the sun

Post by Verkenner »

Sorry OFF TOPIC: Smart meters are not all smart.

You need a smart meter with DSMR 3.0 P1-port (specs are in the NTA 8130), and the the deployment proces was succesful (Enexis does).
A smart meter also can transmit the gas-usage over the P1-port (the gasmeter is connected to the electrictymeter and sends data once an hour, not realtime).
The smart meter has 4 counters ("telwerken").
Of course your back feeding (to the public netwerk from Enexis) from the sun-panels is recorded.
But realise that depending of your sun-panel-capacity on your roof and your own electricity-consumption normaly you do not feed-back very much. ;-)
That's frustating in the beginning. ;-)

tuesday my new meter will be installed, i have to get friends with the engineer :-)
Best thing is an interface where i can read the packets for every counter with rs232 or rs485

i have one without a disc, but with a mechanic counter
I expect it to run backwards......
Can anybody tell more about this
I have an old ferraris meter and i can confirm that it will turn backward during the day. There isn't a more statisfying thing to watch then this. I don't make use of any feed-in agreement or such because my feed-in is very small and i don't want to loose my good old ferraris meter and paying each year more for a so called 'smart' meter.
Btw, Ferraris meters can be bought from Conrad

If your old meter did run backwards, then u should not have replaced it.
Energie suppliers say u have to but there is no need to other that they make more money.
This is cause the running backwards meters give u the full kWh price back (with tax and network costs), the smart meter only gives the clean kWh price.
