It slipped mine too

I'm not sure, but I don't think my problems were not heat related, although it does get hot :(
Wifi settings not being accepted, things like that.
I'll try to dig in my memory (which is a bit rusty after holidays and all...)

Sorry, I didn't mean to say that wifi issues were heat related, but the device crashes because of heat with me and becomes unusable. It enters a boot loop if I interpret the led blinking correctly.

I defined a static lease for the roowifi in my ISC DHCP server.

also keep in mind you use the lower wifi channels
first time i also had problems, my router was standard on wifi channel 13, it seems roowifi can only work on channel 1-12 so it was never able to connect. took me almost an hour to figure that out :)

123unlock, you don't have any heat issues? What Roomba are you working with?

My setup is a Roomba 780 and it probably runs a higher output voltage or something. The little black block <triac?> (don't know the english word) that diverts the excess current to the GND is running dangerously hot with me and causes the device to go into a overheat and then a bootloop sequence.

hi

yes the black block on the upper left is getting hot here too.. but not causing any problems yet, also running it on an 780 roomba
the device is still responsive.. some thing i found out was that on the docking in the past it consumed 5 watt in trickle charge, and now it's using 8 watt so the roowifi consuming 3 watts.. based on normal state i think thats a lot. so no wonder it's getting hot

I'm also having the same problem - very hot and no reliable wifi connection- is it possible to upgrade the firmware? What is Xavier doing about this?

I purchase one in last 28th October and also have the same problem :Heat was an issue since the beggining with my board, very, very hot and no reliable wifi connection! I think because of heat it crash and enters in boot loop...finally yesterday I found the red light not blinking so I pull it out and he burnt my finger ...I'll let it cool all night and after reinserted in my Roomba 780 and now is completely unresponsive :-( no boot loop no adhoc network and after a few blinks on connection it lights off :| I've made the purchase through Z-Wave and I'm waiting for their reply
Any one have had something like that? Thanks a lot
