Just a suggestion which will make the board much more lively. Stop moderating posts before the get displayed. It's a sign of fear, not control. If someone misbehaves you can always ban him for a week or more if neccessary.
i'm on many many boards on a lot of topics and the way this is configured kills the board. Besides...if you post something it tkaes ages before it gets approved and then you think something went wrong during submission making you post again

moderating is done for the first 10 postings, after that we trust you
the forum is spammed a lot and is bringing me lots of blocking/checking work etc
btw: we trust you now, you can post now without modding

Depends. but usually within hours after posting. 24 hours max, excluding the holiday season.
