Yesterday it was bad the whole day, according to Nitroserve:

"we removed a defect node out of the cluster"... that's just funny, isn't the reason that you have a CLUSTER, that you DON'T have downtime if a node goes down?

What an endless list of excuses. None of them really valid for so much downtime and slow downs. Agree with Erik, clustering should give more stability instead of trouble. What a mismanagement there.
Just outof curiousity, Pieter what is the reason you choose their hosting?

Let us all not forget that I think that the one for who all this downtime is the most annoying, is Pieter himself.
No, I'm sure about it!

Just look back and think about how we all have benefited from what Pieter started nearly 5 years ago. Without Pieter's initiative a lot less would have been accomplished through the years by lots of us, I'm sure. My personal opinion: OK it's annoying, but life goes on and I'll check again a few hours later.
However...
Maybe it's time to consider (at least for the early/most contributing members) to contribute in another way than only posting on his forum.
So, here you have it, I'm willing to become a "sponsor" of this forum if that would help in finding a better hosting solution!

I wouldn't mind doing indirect sponsoring and opt for some ads placed on the forums. Of course without adblocking them

I know ads is a nasty word, but forums hosting is a costly business. I'd also opt (personal favourite) for using forum runner for us ipaddies and including ads into that. It'll boost ads display..

As for direct sponsoring, I'd be able to do that too on an irregular basis.
If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem!

Fibaro HC2, various z-wave switching, alerting, detection modules.
ELV FHT80b heating system.

Hi All,

Thanks for thinking and willing to sponsor :)
I think like Digit regarding the performance of the forum, but on the other hand i agree that this is not normal anymore!!
The downtime of Nitroserve is really huge compared to other. The amount I'm paying is not that much a year and the service (beside the downtime) is really good.
But I'm looking around now (again), also had a good offer from Snelvuur to move all to his server, we are mailing about that for years now :D

So it has my strong attention again, and I get back on this.
This year in March the forum is up for 5 year (thanks for reminding Digit), time goes so fast!
We all did some nice projects!

Yes Erik has offered it several times and I would prefer the forum to remain ad free.
win-win?

Hi All
Tonight its D-Day, read blow in Dutch the plans from Nitroserve.
Lets see, hopefully all will improve.....
So tonight the availability will be low after 22:00 hour

Sounds like they know it's time to patch things up a bit. Hopefully this will help.

I'm moving all my own datacenter components over to GoDaddy VPS's, so I'll have some affordable rackmountstuff available incl. cPanel license. You can do your own hosting.

This morning forum is very slow.

I gave up on the forum response a couple of times before waiting long enough.
