Running Homeseer2 with both a Xanura X10 interface and a AEON Z-stick.
Both devices use a CP2101 USB to UART Bridge controller that will offer a virtual COM port to Homeseer.
The problem I am facing is that when I reboot the Homeseer server, de com ports randomly seem to swap and as a result both the X10 and Z-Wave interface stop working.
Is anyone aware of a way to prevent this from happening and change from dynamic to static com port assignment? BTW. I am using Win VISTA Sp2.

Same problem here: Sometimes the CM11A (X10) does not work after reboot.
Some weeks ago problem started spontaneous.
No idea of the reason. Root cause analysis did not work. The external consultant said: "There is more investigation needed, $$$$$$$ "
Within some weeks when upgrading to HS3 I will change all X10 devices (incl CM11A) by Plugwise and Z-wave.
Edit: Yes, hero same Aeon stick. Must be a correlation with USB-RS-232 conversion.
WIN7, HS2

Re: Changing com ports on reboot
it took a few months to tackle this problem. it seems windows 7 has a lot of hidden occupied comport devices , which where once used in the past, the comports arent cleared from memory.
found a solution here. it is crucial to use the command prompt as administrator !!.
