fixed ip address

Post by mrqnapper »

Hi, every time there has been a power-break the ip-adddress of the RFXcom Lan is changed resulting in HS3 not finding the RFXcom ip=address any-more.
Having had this several times the past few years, I thought now it is finely time to fix this (if possible). Can this be done though the RFXLAN configuration page?
Only thing is I can not log in there... what are the standard login settings (can they be reset? without having to configure everything again!).

Would be a major improvement for the system having a fixed ip-address.

the RFXCOM LAN settings:
VERSIONS:
Web pages: RFXLAN_0_02.web
Firmware: RFXLAN_0_06.hex
Stack Version: v5.31
Build Date: May 21 2011 12:08:53

Just set the dhcp address to be static for that device on your modem :-) (If your modem supports this)

Ok thanks, I will have a look at that. I know the D-link router will support that but have not don that before on my DIR-868L. So let's find out how to do that :)

Ok this seems to work. I'm not sure if this is what you meant? But added the RFXCOM Lan to he DHCP Reservation List

Add DHCP Reservation
Enable : x
Computer Name :
IP Address :
MAC Address :

So next I will try what happens when I have a power break.
I am reconnecting the electric wiring of an espresso machine I try to repair... which will cause that for sure :)

Ok I performed a "cold restart" simulating a power-break and it worked nicely. Thanks for the help.

And use RFXLAN:10001 for the receiver and RFXLAN:10002 for the RFXmitter in the HS3 plug-in instead of an IP address.
