Looking for a scripting example for HS3

For many years I have been using a RFXcom USB to control my curtains from Homeseer v2. I am now upgrading to HS3 and found my existing scripts need major work to get the thing to work again.
I understand that buying the plugin is the easy way out but that seems like overkill to just send and occasional open and close command....
Can somebody help me with/point me to some HS3 script samples to communicate with the device without the plugin?
