rfxcom with Harrison rail and X10

Post by dammer »

Hello,

As a newbie I have a question regarding the controlling of the harisson rails. I want to make a home cinema where I can control the projectorscreen (kingpin), the draperies etc.
For the harrison rail, there's mentioned that you can use a RFXcom transmitter to control this via X10. Now is my question if it is possible to use this RFXCOM transmitter as a standalone unit or does it need to be connected to (a PC with) some software like homeseer.

Are there any other means to control this harrison rails (remotely) via X10 ?

Another brand for controlling draperies is silent gliss. Has anyone got some experience with this ?

Thank you for your answers !

You need a program to interact with the rfxcom <-> x10 if you dont want to use homeseer or other software you could always try writing your own one. If you have a cm11 there are visual basic library's for it and rfxcom comes with a visual basic example too. That way you can have a small tool to let them communicate together. You do have to get into some coding, but its not rocket science for the things you want.
