hi,
I just unplugged my rfxcom unit from the server and connected it to my desktop. i wondered why no signals were coming through. checked with rfreceiver. no sensor data coming in (I have about 10 sensors sending all time). looking at the led of the rfxcom, i can see a short green flash when connecting the unit via usb or when sending a command to it, but no blinking for incoming data, as this has been during the past.
Any idea what to check? antenna cables and gp look fine. as the unit still responds to rfreceiver when I do mode switches there, the usb interface seems ok. hard to believe that the rf part got faulty.
is my rfreceiver dead ? **solved: working again *

Did you try to reprogram it with the RFreceiver program? Like enable all RF etc.

docbee,
Did you sent the "Enable All RF command" to the receiver?
Try with a small wire (17cm) in the F-connector to be sure that it is not the antenna.
Do you have an RFXCOM transmitter? If so check the handshake cable.
If still nothing received then sent the receiver to rfxcom for replacement.

yes, i connected the rfxcom to the rfreceiver program and tried all the options that worked ok during the last weeks. but at the moment not a single sensor reading over hours.
i tried the hint from bert, to use a 17cm wire to simulate an antenna, again no effect.
i ll give it a last try tomorrow.
bert, is this the right address (taken fro the home page)?

That is the right address.
There is no RMA procedure because there are so little defects. Send them an email with your address and the type of receiver.
As the USB interface works OK you can return the receiver PCB only.

i tried this morning again and voila... it works again ))
while being happy that i dont have to do a replacement, i still don't trust the situation 100%. explanation 1: i was too tired yesterday night and did things wrong. explanation 2: my unit has a strange behavior.
as i don't like explanation 1, i will have a close look at my rfxcom the next days. if problems do arise again i will replace. if not, i will have to stop working at night to avoid this kind of human error.
however, thanks for your help!
