RXFCOM Transmitter and HomeSeer

Post by chrismemore »

Hi all!

I've got a few questions;

after reading and trying everything suggested in this http://www.domoticaforum.eu/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=396 ; my HomeSeer scripts still don't control my KAKU receivers.

With the RFtransmitter everything works; but not in HomeSeer.

The last lines of my HomeSeer log are:

The RFXCOM plug-in for Homeseer is available for download at: http://www.rfxcom.com/downloads.htm

The plug-in needs Homeseer version 2.2.0.66 or higher.
The 310MHz receiver must have version 32 or up,
the 433.92MHz X10receiver must have version 21 or up,
the receivers for Visonic sensors must have version 8C or up.
All transmitters versions are supported.

This plugin looks a bit like the ACRF plugin, but this plugin has integrated logging and charting, am I correct?

The plug-in has a possibility to assign an indicator to a sensor that is used by the rfxcom2.vb script and the chart aspx page.
Data is only sampled by rfxcom2.vb from sensors having the indicator set.
The chart aspx web page displays only sensors having a corresponding indicator set.

Chris,

1- Is the transmitter correct initialized? Check the HS log.
2- Does the red LED blink on the transmitter when a command is transmitted?
3- Did you enable the correct protocols? (enable only the protocols to be used)

Chris,

Please make a recording of the RS232 comms using http://www.rfxcom.com/documents/HHDportmon.zip

1 stop HS
2 start HHDportmon and select request view
3 start HS and transmit a command to the device
4 copy the HHDportmon data (cut&paste) in a response.

Hi Bert,

started HomeSear and did one `on` and one `off` command:

<b>Read:</b>
Port opened by process "HomeSeerService.exe" (PID: 3128)

37 37 77

<b>Write:</b>
Port opened by process "HomeSeerService.exe" (PID: 3128)

The commands are transmitted OK
Simulate: 20708F00FF
20708F00FF B1-On bits=32
Simulate: 20708F20DF
20708F20DF B1-Off bits=32

But I don't know why the 77 is transmitted.

Did you remove the transmitter init from the startup.txt?

Please send the complete HS log file to RFXCOM support for further analysis.

Chris,

The problem is in the transmitter. The version 0D requires always a handshake cable even if the transmitter is initialized not to use the handshake cable.

solution: connect the top and middle pin on the open end of the handshake cable or send the transmitter module, without USB interface and with a SASE, to RFXCOM for a free update.

Hi , I have installed the new plugin for homeseer, and everything looks great. Only issue I have is that the RFXUtility.aspx where the power graph should be.. only shows the hour 20, no other hours so nothing is charting.

I can send a screen shot if that helps.

Cheers
Chris
