rfxmeter/pulse installation

Post by nawikre »

I just bought an rfxmeter with rfxpulse and installed it in Homeseer.

This is what i have done:

In Homerseer go to the RFXcom plugin, then to 'input device'.
Click the 'cl clear' button.
Remove the powerplug from the rfxmeter.
Press the button on the rfxmeter and put the power back on.
A green light starts to flicker.
In the rfxcom plugin click the button 'add' and your rfxmeter will be added.
Now i filled in the following data.
at 'Suffix' i filled in 'kWh'.
at 'Value' i filled in the amount of used kWh that is on the meter in the closet.
at 'Devide by' i filled in nothing, because the meter says 31178 and i used 31178 kWh.

Now i am at a point i have to configure the rfxmeter...
I already resetted the meter to 0
Now it starts to count the kWh...at an interval of 30 seconds

I have read the manual of the rfxmeter and rfxcom i.c.w Homeseer, but i am still missing some data. I cannot find how to configure the rfxmeter so that it can know how to count the pulses of the energymeter in my closet.

The rfxmeter now shows 0,004kWh, the next reading is 0,007kWh, next is 0,009kWh, then 0,0011kWh. In my eyes it does not makes sense. So what can i do to calibrate/configure the rfxmeter?
On the energymeter it says 500imp per kWh.

So if someone can help me with this, i would be very greatfull..

many thanks

Iwan

try this:
delete the RFXMeter in the RFXCOM - input device screen,
add it again but now with divide by 500
units is kWh
calibration value is the meter value in watts. (so if for example the meter indicates 12345kWh enter 12345000)

sorry,
Calibration value = Utility meter counter value * Divide By - RFXMeter value

see also page 34 in the RFXCOM User Guide.pdf

Last month I bought also a rfxmeter with rfxpulse and installed it in Homeseer2.
I see the kWh-meter in HS but no change after a few houres of the number.
Here the information of my installing and the line in HS2 of the kWh meter.

What did I wrong? Or did I forgot something?

Is de LED on the RFXPulse blinking?
Did you adjust the sensor?
Do you receive an updated counter in RFreceiver?

I connected 1 sensor to the rfxmeter and 1 red led is burning continue. No blinking.
I stick the sensor on the glass of the kWh-meter. But what do you mean by adjust the sensor?
How do I receive an updated counter in RFreceiver.
