Imho this topics are meant to supply an overview of realtime websites. When someone notices that one of these websites doesn't exist anymore it should be removed. If no one gives notice of it this links will exist for ever, until a moderator has really nothing to do but to check links on the forum. I think it's also a responsibility of the visitors. Thats why.
