New Domoticaforum in progress

Post by Bwired »

Hi all,

For the last weeks I'm very busy with the new forum.
I have chosen PHPBB, that has the most possibilities for converting and has a lot of options as well.

Still busy with some issues like style, images displayed not good, google ranking things needs to be in place, spamfilters etc.

I'm also thinking about changing the rules about the language and get everything back to English except perhaps HS , what is your point on that?

Any suggestions on the new forum, let me hear it.
here http://www.domoticaforum.eu/phpbb3/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; you can see the Beta where
some of the topics are converted, not all.
Is a test situation, new conversion will be done later therefore the forum will be closed.
Hope to realize this still in 2009 :-)

Look indeed smoother, the look and feel!
Regarding the the question about the languages, no problem in sticking default to english, however the fellow domoticans may think otherwise :-)

there is bound to be a "language checker" that would warn a person about there language if its dutch of english.

I miss a bit of "flair" though.. just like the header of bwired.nl , we need a nice header/footer to make it shine. But for now it would do just fine.. :) i can finally paste long url without scrolling to the right.. (and better uploading for images?)

Great!
I prefer english forum-wide, so i don't have to think about what language to use and i think with english you'll reach a bigger audience.

Yes. English would be fine.
Maybe you can add a "Dutch" subtitles hack to it :-)

No problem with english, but keep a "rant" section... some things are only valid in .nl for instance.

Aaaaaah there it is [:D], lookin' fresh!

My preference is also for using the english language on the forum.

I agree on the logo/header thing with Snelvuur, it would give the forum that little bit more 'personality'.

Yes yes preparing a logo, this is the rough one
the conversion is most important, toeters en bellen will follow :)
