Remote control Windows

Post by Post-IT »

I'm searching for software which I can use to remotely execute commands on my Windows machine.

I've seen this embedded with several touchscreens, but I'm unable to find this software online.

My goal is to run commands from the commandline, for example to restart the computer start screensaver, start software or have my SIPclient pick up.

Does anyone have an idea what software I should look at?

Thanks Wootz,

however the tools you mention seem to run from the computer from which I would like to control (Windows to Windows).

I forgot to mention, the software should run as a listener on the to-be-controlled Windows machine as I am controlling from an embedded system (non-Windows). From that system I am able to open a TCP/UDP session or issue a HTTP command.

In that case, perhaps use somesort of a shell? Telnet or SSH? will require some coding though ...

If you use Homeseer, there are a plugin, that listens to a TCP port. (Newer used it, but think about it often. :-) )

I know, but fortunately I don't have to use Homeseer anymore :)

I just found c-move, specially made for this purpose. This seems to fit the bill:

All the basic controls needed for a remote touchscreen are available.

You can try using various remote support services such as gosupportnow.com, logmeinrescue.com etc. Alternatively, you may even want to consider on premise remote support appliance such as RHUB. Check it out at rhubcom.com
