RGB Led strip

Post by TANE »

Today I have installed my new RGB led strip.
Almost 2,5 meter strip with max usage of 4 watt power

Controlling is done via a basic controller with IR
On/Off via Plugwise (can also be done via IR)

Controller has build in 11 modes.
7 color and 4 different color mix changer.

I can control the strip via Homeseer / Irtrans
This works but it's very basic.
My final goal is replace the controller with DMXlan or Chromoflex
Both can be integrated in Homeseer.

Price and shop
RGB Strip 30 euro p/m
Ir controller 20 euro
12 volt adapter 50 watt 15 euro

RGB Led strip

Post by Foxtastic »

Hi Tane,

I have bought around 100m of LED Strip from Ebay (a few at a time) and the prices are much cheaper than on dutch webshops. If buying a single 5m reel I have never had to pay any import taxes. (http://shop.ebay.com/ledclick/m.html?_n ... ksid=p3686)

Led Strips come on a 5m reel. I have bought 300Led RGB Strips (incl. waterproof versions) and 600led warm white strips (incl. waterproof). The DMX/RGB controllers I bought from a seller on Alibaba.com (18,20 dollar a pcs instead of 50 euro's in NL)

All strips work perfectly. I'm working on making an all LED apartment in Amsterdam.
Bought an Lanbox LCE to control the DMX controllers... Got it to work but now I need to figure how I can start cue's from homeseer. Maybe Lennart has more insight on this topic

I also use a Lanbox to control my lights. My dimmers and switches are all dmx enabled.
Lanbox is very flexible and I control it over tcp/ip what is a must for me.

I have build a small site from which I can control all my lights from my phone and in the future an ipod touch ;-)

No, I use a php site (with fancy ajax things) with a MySQL backend. Everything is writing in php or perl so it can run on osx/linux/bsd.
