wifi rgb led controller wf300 from leynew

Post by labium »

http://www.leynew.com/en/productview.asp?id=425
all shops sell it without mentioning the manufacterer, but a little googling did wonders.
i bought this thing to explore the possibilities. you can control it with android or ios app color magic .
but i want to integrate it in homeseer.
i has a build in webpage which in which you can change the settings. (not documented. it says the port of communicating withthe app is 5000. this is a upnp port.
from my android debugger i get informatipn as mentioned in the attachment. a packet sniffer isnt working properly on my rooted htc.
is there anyone who knows how to read next values the columns are time pid tag and text.
the numbers are a result of pressing the on and of button of the led lights.

i think he communicates as a kind of comport on port 5000, and the controller can also be added as client to the wifi homenetwork

should not be so hard to grab this. the webbrowser of this device is on port 5000. (http://192.168.2.2:5000)
so grab the webpage commands, like you did and take them over in a Homeseer script

Right. Even if it's on port 12345, you can still grab it, that's the message I guess

No need for scripting
For homeseer there is a plugin that allows you to send code to any serial or ip based device and even allows you to capture the feedback.

Ok I was not clear, the webpage to setup your device are on 80, but for receiving/sending the instructions its 5000
I guess the connected apps are gettings status back as well.
Looks also that the Phone first has to connect via Wifi to the Led Wifi Controller, and the Led Wifi controller is not connected to your home network..
The site is very unclear about that

it has its own lan , but he should be able to connect to you home wifi network as client. i tried but now he is not in the air and has no reset button.
the info on the sites is minimal about this device, i dont know why this is. It even has no manufacturer name printed on it.
i opened it to find a reset button but no not available how so ever.
i will concentrate on techniques to send serial data over ip , digi is a good example with its serialport servers . i found some vb projects to do this.
the wifi interface is based on a WM001S version 3
info alone in chinese :
lucky there is google translate.

The webserver is password protected what are the username/password?

EDIT: it's admin/admin

Has anyone yet figured out how to reset the webserver, via serial?

Does anyone manage to reset it? I have a wf100 without usb/rj45 or any suitable interface.
I logged into it via the web interface and tried to connect it to my home WiFi network by changing it from AD-HOC mode to Infrastructure and after a reboot I cant get to any interface anymore... Only the RF remote still works...

Any suggestions howto reset it?

Good evening! I had the same problem. But I have solved this problem. Download program "MyPublicWiFi", install it, and create a virtual WiFi hotspot with the SSID name and encryption settings the same as you have in the controller. I had a network name "LN005" encryption - AES with key 12345678. The settings I entered the program "MyPublicWiFi" and created access point. The program in the "Clients" tab after a while I found connected to said network controller with IP address 192.168.2.2. After that, I open a browser and get access to it.
I hope this helps you.
