Pronto TSU9600 new firmware version 5.0.6

Post by Snelvuur »

What's new in TSU9600 updater v. 5.0.6

This release has one minor bug fix: The application reset that occurred when successive special characters were used via PRONTOSCRIPT is fixed. Still we recommend installing this firmware on any new control panel as it is also prepared for the new release of the editor that is planned for later this year.

Important

After installation of this new firmware, downgrading is possible but only via the Repair mode. In the firmware up/downgrade tool you will find this Repair button and the instructions.

In rare cases after downloading new firmware a success message is displayed while in fact a C11 time-out error occurred. In this case please unplug/re-plug the USB-cable before downloading files from the editor.

Known issues

1. A firmware upgrade with a big configuration file will take more time than before. A firmware upgrade timeout error might occur depending on size and complexity of the configuration file. Users need just to wait until the upgrade is finished.
2. If you are not properly connected to the network and the control panel goes to sleep (without USB or power attached) you need to reset the panel after downloading a configuration file with correct network settings.
3. Large configuration files: When navigating through large configuration files distorted images can occur.
4. Connection problems with music servers: The control panel does not always automatically reconnect after a deep sleep. Usually it can be corrected by going to the browse view or homepage or diagnostics screen.

Known issues (only for ProntoScript developers)

5. Simultaneous client sockets are limited to a maximum of 16. There are duration problems when using TCP/IP over time that can cause device to freeze or that the ProntoScript network API no longer works until reset. This seems to happen especially with scripts that use a lot of sockets.
6. Synchronous read operation when there is no actually data to read results in a ProntoScript error and should only give back an empty string. Existing scripts in the market might require some adaptation by including a try/catch block.
7. Some more exotic BMP/PNG formats can not be displayed via ProntoScript.
8. For certain ProntoScript applications using TCP/IP a dark screen (zero brightness) after sleep can occur. This only happens when the wireless timeout has expired with a non-existing SSID in the docking with no USB. Using the diagnostics key combination fixes the brightness problem. This scenario is likely to occur when using a non-configured ProntoScript camera module.
