Irrecco Pronto alternative?

Post by TANE »

IRreco is an nice project to make the N800 good alternative for the IR control.
They use the N800 with touch screen as control device.
IR is send from the IRTrans Transceiver

I have all the hardware and software in house..going to test it.

That will work I'm sure, I'm anxious about the IR response time, if it's just as fast as direct IR.
I'm think I buy me a Nokia as well, looks good!

Irrecco Pronto alternative?

I think you forgot the link ;)
http://irreco.garage.maemo.org/

Here's a video where you can see the speed of using an N800 combined with a media center/mythtv box as a remote:

Not sure though if this is IRreco, maybe Chak you can confirm.

I'm planning on doing some stuff via IRtrans modules on my iFohn interface as well. But as the remote you use everyday to switch channels I still have doubts if these types of devices cut it in 'user-friendliness'. Though for switching stuff when you're not in front of the tv/stereo etc, it's absolutely 'perfect'.

Thanks for the link...forget to past it.
IRtrans is working okay.
I think there will be always short delay..i have also this with the Pronto and the RFX9400
The logitech extenders are a bit slower then then IP one from pronto.

I think the youtube video is also done with IRRECO screens looks almost the same.
There is another remote control..this one is only for the MCE and is done via IP
