Hmmm, interesting.
I have modified plcbus.pl to deal with both versions of PLCBUS devices so should work regardless of whether it uses ETX or a checksum (provided it is actually 0x200) while still actually confirming the validity of the received frames. I don't have any of the new devices so am only able to test with the older versions. If someone could test and confirm it works would be appreciated.
Cheers

Thanks I already found that thread and changed the script (probably the same change as @waynet dit). I took the liberty to put the script under version control, I hope you don't mind @waynet (it took a while for the moderator of the forum validated my account and my first post)

It can be found at:
http://code.google.com/p/plcbus-daemon-for-linux/

By the way, I check for a modulo (%) 100 to verify the checksum.

@waynet, if you agree (with your script being placed @ code.google.com) please mail me your E-mail address to maurice (at) debijl (dot) net, then I add you as project owner.
