Signal and Noise monitoring

Post by Digit »

Today i finished another piece of my PLCBUS driver, enabling me to monitor the 'quality' of my powerline.

Since all PLCBUS modules can report Signal and Noise quality and it's always good to be able to monitor how your powerline is doing, i decided to implement logging of Signal and Noise data:

I also made 2 charts, displaying Signal and Noise of the module that i expect to have the largest fluctuations:

Good to see that when i started logging, the washing machine that was on at that time, did have a noticable influence on signal quality.

I noticed some more things while working on this, but more about that later..

It appears noise level is always zero, not sure if we can rely on this value.

You're right, and it's not only with this module, but with all of them.
