Postby gjniewenhuijse » Tue Jul 28, 2009 11:18 am

I have a plcbus II R2263DE One Load Lamp modules installed. Some times the lamps gone flashing.

No, i dont have any solution. Sorry to say tho...
Supplier told me to buy a filter, so guess thats not a option.

Can you have a look or you also got a pattern in flashing. Here it happends at whole and halve hours.
I dont have any timmer equiped stuff that could interfear at these times.

I got 3 (hallogens) 220v spots connected to each dimmer.

Hope we can sort something out!

I can't find a pattern. But most times when the light on the street goes on i think the problem is bigger (more flashes). So i think its a problem from outside my installation.

The problem is the PLC-BUS itself!

You can test it.

Always, when a controller checks the PLC-BUS like "Get ON ID Pulse" or sending an additional ON Command to 2263 while ON, the light is flashing.

Hello Letitbe and welcome,

Do i understand you right that the plc controller itself is causing this problem ?
I guess thats easy yo check and put the dimmer on and disconnect the controller at one of those moments.

Thanks for your sugestion.

Hello r_255,

I found a new German Forum; here you can find information about this problem. If I understand it correct, there is a communication problem with PLCBUS II R2263D.
http://www.plc-bus.info/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=5

The German PLC-BUS shop does not sell PLCBUS II R2263D any more.
I think there is something wrong with PLCBUS II R2263D.

micro lamp module with flashing problems

OK , I got the answer from R&D.

In some situation , when the PLCBUS II - 2263D receive the command and send back the ACK feedback , the light will flash.(ON - OFF - ON within 10ms )
The problem is like this :
Controller send A1 ON (need ACK feedback)
2263 receive it , then send ACK feedback <--- at this moment , it will NOT flash
Next time Controller send A1 ON ( need ACK feedback )
2263 receive it , then send ACK feedback <--- at this time , it will flash

But if the command no need ACK feedback , like ALL ON , it will not case this problem.

The problem is depend on the powerline environment . That mean even you have problem on this 2263 , but you give this 2263 to your friend , your friend may not have this problem.

R&D explain to me is the 2263 send ACK feedback command , it activate the Triac in the dimmer module .
For the solution , you can install a Noise Absorber ( 4820 ) at the L and N of 2263.
This Noise Absorber will absorb the Noise and PLCBUS signal for make the ACK feedback signal weaker for prevent this problem.

To letitbe , if you find the problem is cause by ACK feedback . you should install a 4820 at the 2263 , not at the distribution box. Then problem should solve.
To gjniewenhuijse , you need to check the problem is cause by Outside Noise or ACK feedback.

Actually 4820 is a 5uf capacitor , you should find in locally , otherwise , leave me a message .

My problem is not the ACK feedback, but a noise generated by another device or something else.

i try to install a capacitor and let you know if it works (or not).

micro lamp module with flashing problems

I get definitely flashes by ACK. Always I send command from controller I get a flash.
@ kevinlo I think there must be a bug in firmware.
I also use 2026 plug-in module. This plug-in module works fine, no flashes!
4820 is not a solution for me, it is too big.[:(] I do not have the space for 4820 near 2263!
I had problems to get 2263 behind switch. It is impossible to put 2263 together with 4820 behind wall switch! I need other solution.

To letitbe , just got the message from R&D , will have new firmware (ready in this week) for solve this problem.
You can ask your supplier for change the unit.

If you find difficulty , leave a message to me. I can exchange to you. ( If you don't mind to send your unit to Hong Kong )

micro lamp module with flashing problems

Postby r_255 » Mon Aug 31, 2009 11:44 am

I disconnected my controller from the powerline when the flashing started and the flashing did not stop, so it must be generated by something else on the line.

i also got 2 plc plugin dimmer and 2 switches who work perfectly. They 2263 must be more sensitive some how for these signals. I also noticed the devices locked up while flashing and are not controllable. And like letitbe, i think most of us have problems fitting in the module incombination with the original switch. So also mounting a filter wil be impossible without breaking up walls.

please dont get me wrong but with the prices of these filters zwave can be a good replacement and solve the problem as good as any filter can do for me.
but again, thanx for the efforts of posting.

Robin
