PLCbus, where is it ?

Post by zenit »

Did anybody hear something more about "plcbus"?. I'm looking for distibutors in europe / the netherlands. It looks like a (compatible) cheap promising alternative for Xanura. Last thing I saw/heard was on the site of elekhomica a few weeks ago. But they seem to stop selling it.[?]
note: to the reading people of PLCbus, what is the best way to market your new product ?? RIGHT, in a userforum![:D]

As far as i know, Elekhomica stopped selling PLCBUS only temporarily.
There were firmware issues. I have had some PLCBUS stuff but sent it back because it was unreliable. I'm now waiting for the replacements. When the issues have been resolved, they'll start selling it again, is what they told me.

I did recognize the light switches (starting at time 01:10) and a remote control. And a micro module. Here you can find more about PLCBUS products:

Because I use a lot of Xanura X10(A10) modules, this is very interesting.
See http://www.elekhomica.nl/pdf/PLCBUS_Brochure.pdf (In Dutch) for a short description. Especially the improved response time compared to X10 sounds nice.
There is alo a sort of gateway to convert the X10 protocol to PLCBUS and vice versa.

Is there anyone with some experiences for the PLCBUS.

I have "some" experience. I have an interface (serial) and 1 appliance plugin module (PLC2027) to test with. Oh and i have a PLC2225 2 appliance crystal switch, just for the looks, haven't even assigned an address to it yet [:I] (time). Biggest advantage is everything is 2-way, plugin modules look better then the rest i've ever seen, but don't beleive everything you read. PLCBUS has the same problems with noise as X10 has, although i can't give any real comparison on that. Yet.

The maker of the HS plugin is a member of this forum too.
Some additional PLCBUS info can be found on the HS Message Board. There is a review somewhere, just search on PLCBUS and you'll find it.

Mmmm, PLCBUS start to get interesting to implement here.

I was considering Xanura modules, but Xanura is expensive to implement, especially in a 3-phase system.

The PLCBUS phase-coupler seems a passive one, anyone who can confirm this?

Hi! I've developed a freeware software to allow PLCBus users to control devices using their PCs. This software allows you to design "plans" with devices, macros, weather information, etc., and link them together. It also contains a scheduler that allows you to automate control of your devices, and respond to events.
Then you can simply view those plans with any browser and control your devices remotely with a palm, PC, etc.
The latest version (2.0) also includes scripting, which means you can write your own VBScript and JavaScript routines for more complex scenarios. If you are a programmer, you can even embed this into your own applications.

Anyone interested can download from http://hometomation.com/homeplanner

Your feedback and suggestions will be more than welcome.
