USB-UIRT support?

Post by pservais »

Does anyone know if the USB-UIRT device is supported by Domotiga?
Recently I switched from HouseBot to Domotiga and would like to use the USB-UIRT in Domotiga also.
I've read on the net that the device is supported in Linux (same FTDI driver as rfxcom)
If it is not supported, I would like to submit a feature request for it.

Greetings,

Patrick

There is no support for USB-UIRT in DomotiGa at this moment.
Can you tell me a bit about how it's included/supported in HS?
Pointers to SDK/development info is also welcome, saves me from looking for it...
Is it supported by LIRC?
Regards, Ron.

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Lirc_USB-UIRT
I found this link, so the USB-UIRT is support by LIRC, and receiving LIRC data from it's socket is supported by DomotiGa, for sending you can use the LIRC irsend command from event actions.
Are you willing/able to give it a go and maybe write some install notes for the wiki?
Regards, Ron.

Hi Ron,

thanks for looking it up!
I will give it a go, have been struggling to install Ubuntu/Domotiga the past days (15 years of Windows ;) )
When I succeed I will write some instructions.
I have a sample app in vb6 that is made by the USB-Uirt manufacturer, but it is made for the windows dll.
Would you like to have a look at the sourcecode?

Grtz,

Patrick

Maybe the vb6 source is useful, if it's open source please share it, but I think the LIRC support works different.

I rechecked the vb6 code and saw that was made to work with the uuirt.dll.
Also I don't get LIRC to work, grrrrrrr!
For someone used to work in Windows, Linux is $%#@ !!!
Frustrated and tired of trying to get LIRC to work, I've searched the net some more and saw that MisterHouse has native support for USB-UIRT.
Maybe you could take a look at the Perl Module for usb-uirt?
It would be really great to have a interface for the usb-uirt.

Thanks,

Patrick
