Philips hue/applight control from domotiga

Post by christiand »

I like the philips hue and applight led lightbulbs. Since they can be controlled by an ios or android app i wondered if its possible to do the same from domotiga. Does anybody already has experienced with philips hue or applight.

Price wise applight is cheaper than than the philips hue.

There is already an ios app created for disco effects. http://www.iphoneclub.nl/224852/philips ... ambilight/

After some research the philips hue uses zigbee as a protocol and applight wifi. Applight seems more a chinese budget product. The lighs are also less bright but they use 2 watt less (6 watt applight, philips 8 watt)

The community around philips seems already larger. With interesting projects or xbmc to create ambilight for movies.
