A good standby killer
Does anyone have the intention of using the Source standby killer? Because i don't think it's very usefull.
It's triggered by a wattage, and you can specify a timeframe where the standby-killer should be active.
So when i make a schedule for standby-killer for TV from 22:00 till 12:00 and i put my TV in standby at 23:07, the killer switches off the circle.
Good? No. Now how do i switch my TV back on in the middle of the night cause i can't sleep? NOT.
Turning off standby-killer function is only triggered by time. I don't think that's very smart.
Here the integration with existing HA systems comes to the rescue, cause now we can build are own standby-killer that adapts itself to the current situation.
Alarm system on? Standby-killer on for 'everything'.
Receiving IR commands? TV/Audio Circle back on.
Motion in the kitchen? ....etc. etc.
What more possible triggers are there?

I totally agree with you about the standby killer. It's useless the way it is now.
My thought was the same with the motion detector.

Thats why I suggested (in the Plugwise Wishlist and Findings thread) to add a hardware on/off button on the plug.
Chak suggested to use a Visonic or Kaku motion detector to turn the plug on again.

Plugwise is developing a switch which can control the circle or a group of circles On and Off. I don't think there will be a switch in the circle in the near future. It's also not very handy for places hard to reach. This switch will be a very good addition specially for standard users. The switch will be available early next year. The switch is handy but I prefer to control the plugwise circles with my Home automation system for instance when the alarm is activated.
Switch Afmeting: 86.5

Looks nice, but like you (and many other) it would be great to controll the plugs with something like Homeseer / Alarm.

I can do this with my HA system. I released some XML files and HTTP commands for that.
It is also already possible with the script from Chak, he put them in there!
Or you can wait for the plugin....

Not having switches on the plugs is one of the things that bugs me about Plugwise. The wallswitch is a nice alternative, although I still think each circle should just have a switch included... Till then just have a e.g. Pronto nearby to switch on whatever you need to use at night. Or you could just make a new house-mode 'asleep but still awake' which turns on things like the bedroom tv and dvd player etc.

I think its personal, my circles in my house you cannot see.
The kitchen appliances, wash dryer, hifi, hvac, television etc are hard to reach when you want to switch them on with the circle.

For homeseer user..you can use any Homeseer device to control the plugs.
I'm not using the standby killer...most of my devices are okay with standby Tv is just using 0,1 watt
Possibilities..
Lights On ,Turn on TV
Pushing the Power button on the TV remote..turn on TV (for this you need IR interface)
Some of my plugs are connected to Visonic
Alarm on ..turn them off.
Sooty will start begin jan 2009 with development.
At the moment I have full control including powerusage in Homeseer.
