Measuring Solar panels

Post by Omega »

In April this year we bought the basic plugwise-set to measure the electricity production of our solar-panels.
Plugwise told me that the new source-release would have the possibility to measure production in addition to usage.
In this new release you can indeed select "Zonnepaneel" as "apparaat", however the production is still measured as usage.
Perhaps I have made a wrong adjustment somewhere or is it still not possible to measure production separately ?

Response Plugwise helpdesk:

Geachte heer,

Looking forward to the next update [:)]

Measuring Solar panels

Post by Wim2008 »

I have for some days a set of circle from plugwise.
They work very well, also with solar cells.
I see only no different with incoming or out going energie in the graphics from this system.
Can someone tell me what I have to do, to make this correct?

The present Source software (V2.0) does not support Solar-panels.
According to Plugwise, V2.1 will be able to make a difference between usage and production, however, this new version is not available yet.
Perhaps somebody knows status of this update ?

Picture of the solarpanel in Plugwise (V20091028).

Indeed power usage in stead of profit.

The top in the picture is nearly 40 Wh. an hour.

Hi Verkenner,

Till now, there is no difference between energy which is going out or in.
I see the same as you.

And in the new version of Plugwise V20091218.0 you will see the incoming and outgoing energie.
Very nice and interessing.
Below a picture.

i am thinking of measuring solarpanals with an plugwise unit,...did you simply plus the net inverter into the plugwise unit. :?:

If you did before the inverter into 220V, you can do it now with the plugwise unit between.
I can make a picture if you like, but that will be possible this evening.
