Plugwise Circle+ won't connect

Post by Lordsauron »

Hello all!
I just got my basic set of plug wise received, now I'm trying everything to get under way, but want to connect with the circle + not.
when I read the description he says that 6 character should be introduced and that the program automatically makes 6, but if you have 5 to stand. now I have 5 up, but I do not automatically get the 6th character. Now I have tried A is to continue but that does not work. anyone an idea? (circle +'ve already reset a few times)

The 6th character is set to as hi
found, and is usually a 1.2 or 3 front
the first 5 characters. After reset only 5 characters
enter and log Can sometimes lengthy and
the + should be close (within 5mtr) of his stick. sure
sign. My experience is, after enrollment, further
to 10 mtr + but so close as possible.
I have an multi contact box with all plugs
it, and can also piggy back (plugs together in stabbing
outlet for the first sign)

I am sorry i have read you explenation a couple of times now, and i can make head's or tales of it... ([:I])
You say that the 6th char is a 1/2 of 3 at the front?
the Circle+ is about 10cm away from my usb stick so that sould not be the problem.

Ok

then it should work. Just fill in the number as printed on the Circle+. and then the source should be able to find it. Once it has found it then it normally adss the 6th digit automatically.

If it still does not work you could try a whole reinstall.
Just deinstall source and reset al the plugsa and start all over again.
I,ve had no big trouble so far and installed lots of plugs. It sometimes takes so time though (20 min or longer is no exception the first time)

I'm trying to reinstall my plugwise network .with my original set no way to get it working ... I got another set of plugwise and again no way to find the cirlce + plug.

I may mixing up the two usb sticks and license code .. don't know how sensitive it is ... also i think by removing the Source software some backup will be made of the plug id's and will be loaded in the software again ...

so just a feeling that the installation of plugwise is extreemly complex with all the licenses codes, and plug id's ...

Henk, mixing up the two usb stiks is (ofcourse) sensitive. The usb is related to the circle+ and the circles wich came with the set. That's for security reasons. Otherwise every body with a Plugwise stick could control your network.

Plugwise Circle+ won't connect

Reinder,

I tried the original combination on both sets and no way to get the plugwise network going. - waiting more than 20minutes of getting Circle+ linked.

Questions:

What will be the procedure to get it all working ? return all plugs to the factory. There is no way to reset it by the user ?

It is not possible to transfer circles from one set to another ?

What if you order extra circles ...?

The license code is linked with the individual stick ..?

Henk,
You can reset the plugs and this way it's possible to use them in another network.

Plugwise Circle+ won't connect

Post by Henk »

hi Sebastiaan,

I had to return the two circle+ plugs + sticks back to the Plugwise support and they replace one circle+ because it was broken andplugwise reset the other one.
.. but i tried to connect my 8 circles but no luck unable to pair them with any of the two circles+. (only one circle got connected) I reset the circles many times but no way to get them paired in a network. Gave up after spending a lot of time .... will contact the helpdesk again making an appointment to check with them what i'm doing wrong.

I'm afraid it is still a software problem.

regards,

Henk

I finally reyturn the plugs to Plugwise support and got them back they are working now ... i suspect the problem was related to the plug number changes i got some old plugs and a prefix number is required. Plugwise claim teh software is taking care of it ... but i doubt .....
