Plugwise stick not found

Post by Antoon »

I have deleted the USB serial converter.
Restart the HS server and run the plugwise wizzard again.
I put in the stick when he ask me and windows give me the popup with new hardware found.
Looks good I thought.
But still the plugwise software can't find the stick.
Look into the device manager and guess? No stick there.
Seems that he is installing the wrong driver everytime.
Try also the USB RFXCOM and exactly the same problem.

you can install/replace the USB serial converter in device manger...just search for it on your PC or select the new downloaded version.

Antoon,
Try removing all no longer in use and all troubled devices from device manager as described in this link: http://www.tacktech.com/display.cfm?ttid=419
Once you've done this you can try to reinstall the offending devices again.

Regards, Maarten.

Several times I had the same problems, all drivers were messed up. By deleting, replacing and messing around I got it working again.
Somehow this is not handled very good within the OS.
I also had a lot of problems with the numbering of comports etc.

I had the same problem: Installed IRTRANS USB and lost connection to RFC tranceiver and Plugwise stick. I made a system restore to a couple of days ago and will wait with IRTRANS untill I know exactly what to do.
I'm a kind of happy that it's not only me having this problem... (Sorry guys)

Ok,up and running again [:)]
I noticed that everytime I plugin the plugwise stick the irtrans usb driver was installed.
Changed it but that was not working.
Then installed first the second RFXCOM USB and changed the driver.
That was working.
After that the install of plugwise also worked.
Thanks everyone for help me out
Goodnight

Antoon, nice to hear things work again !

I recent had a problem with USB-devices.
Some USB-sticks e.g. Plugwise stick.
After all I found that the USB-controller could not give enough power. Together the sticks used to many miliAmps.
So do not put too many USB-devices on one USB-controller.

Ofcourse, happy that your system is working again !

Cheers, Verkenner

Hello all, Sorry to kick this topic but after al the problems I had last time installing the IR trans I put it away. But now I want to try it again but I'm very afraid that my HS system will stop working again. I have the USB IRtrans. Can anybody tell me exactly how to install the IR trans without messing up all my comm ports?

The Plugwise service department has helped me to reset the FDTI chip on mine pc.
All circles work fine now again.

I missed only all old data.
A found the mdb file where all the data is going in.

Can I found somewhere the old data?

BR Wim :)
