Plugwise Source 2.1 beta, Release 20091210

Post by Rene »

WARNING:

They made some changes in the web server interface, resulting in wrong results in the Homeseer plugin. I will provide more details later.

Some first information:
- The Source is no longer indicating the status of a device (on, off, offline) via the type of icon, not in the Source and not in the webserver. The plugin was using the name of the icon to determine the actual state of the device because the state information returned by default by the source only indicates off or on and not unknown or offline.

Plugwise should be so happy with the testing activities [:)]
On the other hand fixes are very rapidly done by Plugwise, great!

@Reinder: can you confirm this as well, is this function coming back or a well taken decision?

@Reinder @Rene,
Thanks for the update.
What / When will the new firmware be available, what is new in this?

My biggest problem is the performance switch time is between 0,1 - 5 seconds
I hope that this part is also optimized.

The right icons are displayed, however the statistics.xml file, I supplied as part of the plugin and that has to be installed in the Plugwise Source directory needs to be modified. The webserver Substring function behaves differently in this version of the Source. Where previously the maximum length parameter was optional (as also according to the manual), in this version you need to specify a maximum length. When the maximum length is omitted, the specified parameter is interpreted as the number of characters to copy till the end.

Example:

Previous version:
$str="router_on"
$str.Substring($str.LastIndexOf("_")+1) => this results in 'on'

This version:
$str="router_on"
$str.Substring($str.LastIndexOf("_")+1) => this results in 'uter_on'

The Powerstate attribute of the appliance method now also seems to return offline and unknown, meaning the construction I used is no longer required.

I attached a modified version of statistics.xml that can be used with this version of the Source.

Statistics.xml: uploaded/rklootwijk/200912616235_statistics.txt

Note: Rename the extension of this file to .xml, .xml as extension is not allowed for uploading.

Look at my other topic.

I have a totaly updated source / firmware / stretchlight now.

Problems before : slow contact / status not as it should be / lights didnt turn on on corect time etc etc.

All these things are SOLVED.. i even can switch my plugs that are on a distance of over 30 metres.( beter zigbeePro stack )
Plugs show in source after 15 seconds ( all online ) took minutes even hours before.

Homeseer wasnt working..but happely i saw the new xml so thats working again.

I had a nice weekend updating..thanks to Reinder it was all very relaxed. hope ya all think the same in a few.

database is defnitly faster as before and also smaller.
