New update of Release 2.1 -> Plugwise Source 2.12 R20091224

Post by Reinder »

There is a new update available for the Plugwise Source 2.1 to

Plugwise Source 2.12 Release 20091224

This is a maintanance release that fixes serveral issues.
For registered beta users using release firmware version 1: After you install this update, click the update button again to update to beta firmware version 2.

Fixed:
-#634 Switching schedules not activated / standby killer not working
-#609 Long periods of high CPU usage
-#598 Downloading updates fails if ReadMe.rtf is opened and locked by MS Word
-#471 Savings numbers not correct when period starts on any other day than monday

Changes:
- When Reports or Appliances screen is open, the currently selected appliances are refreshed about every 5 seconds (plus the total time required to query the modules of those appliances).
- Source is activated directly after completing Configuration wizard. The activation mail is no longer required.

Known issues:
- Manuals need updating
- Firmware update (OTA) is still in beta
- No OTA support for Switch

Plugwise Source 2.1 Release 20091218

Most noticeable changes since version 2.0:
- Appliances can be marked as energy producing (solar panels, wind turbines etc.)
- Better performance when handling multiple networks with hundreds of modules.
- Support for version 2 firmware
- Support for Switch.
- New driver for Stick (WHQL certified, including Windows 7 64bit)
- PTE: Many addition, see PDF in www/doc

Notes:
- Because of changes in data validation, the usage history (log) is reacquired from the modules for all the current appliances. This will take some time.
- If you're having unexplainable holes in the graphs of one ore more appliances do the following. In the Reports screen, select the appliance, click the refresh button while holding down the Shift key and then wait for a few minutes.

Small Bug
Sometimes the Add Module device button will not work. (you can't push it and it's grey)

After restarting Source it will be available again.

I don't think this is a bug.
When there is no direct connection between the stick and the circle+, the stick sign is no a V mark, but two arrows pointing in a circle. This means that there is no direct link between the stick and circle+ or there is much traffic (by example sending scedules).
When there is no V mark (stick) then the adding modules options is grey-out and not active.

Found another problem in the latest version.
Plugs will show unavailable click will not solve the problem as in the past
To get them working again you need to turn on or off
this is the case for 80% of my plugs. The plugs will die in few hours and I need to bring the online again.

My latest problem is also solved after removing the not used plug in HS en running the plugwise config again.

Plugwise network is faster than before and running very smooth with 30 plugs.

Yep that's correct Pieter.

My problem was the bug in the previous version. What did delay the upgrade.

What also new is in the firmware and software plugs will also show lower usage than 2 watt
see the screen...and yes I know about the Kerstboom..next year this one will also below 10 watt

Enver,

I have this with 2 of my existing plugs, after a added some new plugs. What do you mean with "you need to turn on of off" The plugs are unavailable, so I can't turn them on of off...

Thanks,

Rien,
Check the Homeseer part and remove not used plugs from Homeseer. than restart plugwise.
If you still have problems run the Plugwise config again..this can fix some problems.

Plugs not used anymore and which are still mentioned in Homeseer cannot interfere the communication to other plugs. They are there but will not be updated anymore.

I found a bug in the latest release of the Source when disconnecting a appliance from a circle:
In the appliances overview screen, drag one of your device connected to a circle from the left to right to unconnect the appliance from the circle. The circle should appear on the right. However, it does not. Your appliance on the left is marked as temporary not part of the network but seems to be still connected to the circle. When you restart the Source and switch to the appliances overview screen, the circle will be on the right and the appliance is disconnected from the circle. By dragging the circle from the right to the left on the appliance will be connected them again.
This also results in the Source no longer being able to communicate with the stick. There is no longer a V mark but 2 white arrows in the left bottom corner. When requesting the properties of an appliances updating the current usage takes forever. When the Source is restarted everything is working OK again.

This is reproducable.

BTW: I am still on the old version of the firmware and using the 20091224.0 version of the Source.
Rene.
