Other webserver than 8080

Post by Wim2008 »

I have changed from internet provider and have got some small problems with a port of the new router.
Port 8080 in the new router is used by the provider for management of the router.

Can someone give me a advise which other port/webserver I can use instead of 8080?

Thanks. What do you mean by http in "http uses 80".
Till last week also plugwise was working fine in homeseer to. What must I do in Homeseer to get plugwise devices working again if I change this website server, let say to 82.

Hi,

default http port is 80, but you can use any port.

You can access a webpage via its URL, i.e. www.google.nl, or for local servers 192.168.1.1. Your browser knows its http, so it uses the default http port, which is 80. As example, google can be reached via www.google.nl and http://www.google.nl:80.

When using another port, just add the portnumber to the URL, i.e. if Homeseer is running at IP address 192.168.1.200 and at port 8080, you reach the Homeseer webinterface via http://192.168.1.200:8080

Nothing?
This port is only used internally (in the case of Plugwise and other local webservers). Right?
I use port 80 for website, weblog, IP cams, etc. etc. but all have a different local IP.
You're addressing Plugwise with a combination of IP and port, not just the port.
As long as that combination is unique, you don't have a problem.
Just like there are more streets with the same housenumber...

Ok, I understand.
But mine HS and Plugwise are on the same pc. So I have to use others port numbers for de webserserver HS and Plugwise.
HS has now 80, so Plugwise will not work anymore on my side with 8080, so I will take another port number for the webserver of Plugwise. Are all port numbers free to choose?

No problem with jokes. I choose a new port 8090 for Plugwise.
Changes after choosen a new portnumber:
1. I have changed the portforwarding in my router.
2. I changed the firewall in Windows.
3. the webserver in Plugwise at programms I changed to this new port number.
4. What must I do to get the plugwise devices in Homeseer?
