Kaku or Elro or Chacon or Conrad SLR

Post by Kiekeboe »

Hi!

I am a newbie what concerns domotica, so i 'll ask some advice...

I live in an old house, with no neighbours. In the winter evenings i want to give the 'look' that i 'm at home. I will only use sockets and plugs, because i am renting this house, and renovation is not an option.

On the internet I have found some interesting options...

First:

Kaku: A wide range of products and a programmable remote and PC connection, but i live in belgium, and kaku isn't available here...

Elro: Again wide product range, but i don't know if elro uses something else then kaku, because the hardware looks the same...

Chacon: Again hardware looks the same as Elro and Kaku..

Are Kaku/Elro/Chacon compatible with eachother?

And last the Conrad SLR...

Good pricing and also programmable remote (bit ugly) but what in support to the future??

If anyone has some advice for me, please do so!

Greets!

KAKU and Chacon is compatible.

ELRO and HomeEasy EU are all different devices and not compatible with other brands.

The RFXCOM 433.92MHz transmitters can control all these types.

I am in doubt between Chacon and Conrad, Conrad is cheaper, and the remote has a temp sensor, so you can trigger an event on temperature. Anyone experience with conrad?

I have been using KAKU devices for a couple of years. Although they are 'one way' I'm very satisfied in combination with RFXcom tranceiver. I especially like the dimmers that can be set at a certain level by RFXcom.
I have no experience with the other brands.
