Albatron - Battery Power

Post by Erik »

My TEE/PC system has been connected to the power supply all day and runs fine.
If I check the power properties in the control panel it indicates that the percentage of power left in the main batteries is 0%.
The system will not startup disconnected from the power supply.

Did I miss something in the setup or do I have a dead battery ?

I used the docking station and connected an external keyboard through the USB.
If skip the docking and connect the power supply directly to the Albatron it seems to charge now.
I will leave it like this to get a minimum charge in the battery.
Later tonight I will go back to the docking setup and test what will happen.

okay...I will ask Albatron to look at this thread.

looks like that the dock is not working fine.
other test.
remove the usb mouse keyboard
maybe they are consuming to much power that the power adapter can't charge the device.

When the main battery of my pocketpc is empty most of the chargers can't charge my HTC..i have to use the original charger..

Is there a orange light on the right side of the cradle when the device in cradled and charging? Mine wasn't charging when I first cradled it, only when I put it it more firmly I noticed the orange light. Seems to be charging allright now...

Because the battery is now charged for 30% I went back to the previous configuration.
The Albatron docked and power connected to the docking station, the USB keyboard also connected.

The battery is now charging as it should, the problem disappeared.

Certain type of batteries exist which should not be fully discharged.
A minimum threshold voltage needs to be reached to initiate the loading cycle.
Depending on battery characteristics it could well be that this was the case.
Anyway I am not able to reproduce the charging problem at this moment.

Initially i did not have the orange charging light lit.
The orange light is now on.
I cannot exclude a contact problem, the TEE/PC was cradled many times over the day without solving the charging problem.
Now it is functioning well I can not detect any sign of contact problems when moving the unit around.
