Albatron - without power 1 night - battery empty?

Hi,

Last night (around 20:00) I left my TeePC without power connection (dock or plug). This morning (around 07:30) the device did not start up because the battery was empty.

When powering the device it immediately started..

Is this normal behaviour? Do you have to keep it in your docking station when not used? (basically: what's the 'standby' time for the battery)

This depends on the settings you have..

I'm suspending TeePC after 30 minutes when running on battery.

@Chak, I had the same config. Suspending after 30 minutes. In my case it starts rebooting after 30 min. Suspending causes a reboot.

Did you make any special adjustments?

Just to be sure: if your TeePC is suspending it's going in some kind of stand-by mode?

I removed my Albatron from the docking at 23:00 with HS-client running and battery at 100%.
The screen dimmed after 1 minute (user idle) and went off after 3 minutes (system idle).
According to the power management settings the system should go to suspend after 5 minutes (hibernate).
This morning the battery was totally discharged, I had to supply AC-power with a reboot of the system.

It looks like the system will not go into hibernate mode.

Could it be that the HST client is causing this by polling the server before the 5 minutes have past? If that is the case then the TeePC will never reach Hibernation.

That would be a big problem.. If the battery runs out you have to set the clock/date etc.
Will do some more testing.

Things like setting the clock can be automated thru programs like mortscript.

also saw a script for always on... ( might give you an idea how to tweak the other way arround )

Repeated the same power supply test as above with the only difference that the HSTOUCH client was now inactive.
This morning the system was in suspend mode with the battery still at 75%.
Assuming the power consumption is linear and the discharge indication is correct the system will be able to sustain 40 hours in hibernate.

Most probably the conclusion of Dickr43 is correct.

I have the same problem on my PocketPC.
When I forget to close HST the battery will be empty if few hours..
When HST is active there is every second connection..
