Z-wave presence: RFID?

Post by vanisher »

HI all,

I'm still busy with finding a good method to know when there is presence in the house and who is present.
Tried for example pinging mobile phones but this is not near what i want because when the battery is empty there is no ping anymore.

Motion sensors do work, you when there is presence, but you don't know who is present.

How did you folks handle this problem?
I'm looking for a Z-wave function like rfid to cope with this problem.

My setup consists of Homeseer 3.

Why not use BTLE tags ? put it on your keys, and use a BT 4.0 class 1 dongle to detect the LE beacons :)

i also use this in our home, working perfect using the BTLE tags from stick'nfind

also one pro.. there is a nice app that allows you to trace the signal by your cellphone haha so if you lost your keys somewhere in the house
you can find them back by your Phone :D
