Merten Radio Configurator Connect

Post by mhn »

Hi Pieter.

My Innovus remotes (SmoothRemote and Z-Ring) works with Vera. (I haven't tested Scenes i LUUP firmware.)

So I hope QEES ring and wall will to. QEES has the same people behind as Innovus had.

The Duwi devices work with Vera, as I use it with House Control. Klaus on zwaves.dk use them with Vera that way.

Morten,
Im looking for something that looks like a normal switch or push button. Remote controls as only way to control the lights are out of question.
Question of keeping the wife happy ;-)
thx

QEES wall is the only one, I can think of http://www.homee.dk/index.php/en/produk ... urer_id=15

I think Ezhome has it to. But my dutch isn't good. :-)

Otherwise you can make a mod. Maybe something like the one we Danes make with Z-ring. http://zwaves.dk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=20 (just look at the pictures. I guess you danish isn't that good. :-) )

My wife like the remote at the sofa, witch controls all the lights, she can see from there. It is possible. ;-)

@Pieter:
What Morton means is this:
1: The device connected to your power line has to be included into Vera
2: Include the Merten flush-mounted 4-gang into Vera (now this remote knows the network ID of your network.)
3: Press 3 times on the UP or Down button of flush-mounted 4-gang and press 3 times on the include button of the device you want to include on that button.

This way you can control the device in Vera and with your 4-gang buttons.

This isn't the way we all want it to work because we want scenes to be operated with these buttons but it does what you want it to do.

Let's make z-wave EZ

Hi Willem-Jan and Morten
Thanks for the support I really appreciate.
I tried out the guidelines of Willem-Jan but unfortunately the Merten device has another behaviour. Once the relay to which the lamps are connected is peered with VERA it want accept any direct peering with the push button. I exactly followed the following steps:
1: Peer the relay with the VERA (Via the USB and tripple click on the relay) the device is recognised and included in VERA
2: Peer the 2 button MERTEN with VERA. It works and I can even link one (only one) scene to button 0
3: Put the relay in learning mode (triple click) the led starts blinking green and triple click on the Merten RF button (red led starts blinking red and stops after a while) normally when the peering process happens the led on the Rf button becomes green . This is not happening. I changed the order of pushing buttons first button and then relay but this does not help.
As a last attempt I even did a reset of the RF button just to see if it would peer with the relay. No luck, the relay only peers after a reset.

This situation is reproducible so I am going to test this and like we spoke over the phone I wanna know what part of the chain isn't working the way it should.
I'll try it with a remote from Aeon-Labs to make sure what goes wrong.

Let's make z-wave EZ

Hi Pieter.

My guess is that you will be able to make a mod like that with QEES ring. It is properly a update of the Innovus Z-Ring.

Does Belgium and Netherlands use the same format regarding switches?

Maybe we or ezHome can convince Thomas form QEES, that he needs to make a QEES wall in your format?

When he was Thomas from Innovus, he was open for suggestions. :-)

After some debugging of the Micasaverde support team to get the Merten 506244 two button controller (4 channels) working with Vera, here is the final verdict:

When you add the Merten controller here is the information frame we get:

"42 10/03/09 21:24:38.140 0x1 0x14 0x0 0x4a 0x1 0x4 0x9 0xd 0x1
0x12 0x0 0x72 0x86 0x70 0x85 0x8e 0xef 0x85 0x20 0x26 0x50 0x0
(###J###\r###r#p#### &P#)

this means the Merten supports these command classes: 0x72,0x86,0x70,0x85,0x8e

You can see the list of Z-Wave command classes here:

http://wiki.micasaverde.com/index.php/Z ... nd_Classes

ZWave supports 2 ways of transferring scenes into a scene controller.
First is with the COMMAND_CLASS_CONTROLLER_REPLICATION command class,
which is done at the time of inclusion. This is command class 0x21,
which you can see the Merten does not support. The second way is with
the command class COMMAND_CLASS_SCENE_CONTROLLER_CONF which is 0x2D.
You can see that the Merten does not support this command class
either. So whatever method the Merten supports for transferring
scenes into the controller it is not something that is Z-Wave
compliant. I think the Merten device is perhaps not really a Z-Wave
scene controller, but rather a proprietary, closed system that uses
Z-Wave chips. If Merten can explain how they support transferring
scenes into the controller, and this is something officially supported
by Zensys/Z-Wave, we will be happy to add support for it.

Does anybody has good contacts with Merten support?
