I like to add a new zwave device into my present network. My network has some Merten and Duwi devices.
The zwave network is build with the Merten Software/USB stick as primair device and transfered to the Aeon labs using the receive option in Homeseer. The Aeonlabs is the secondary controller.
If I like to add a new device into my zwave network, I have to do the next steps:
- registrate device in Merten software (3x tip) with Merten usb stick
- program the device if necessary in the Merten software
- at the end Merten software will programm the devices automaticly; learn modus can be asked for some devices
- Aeon stick must read in Merten software as last
- all devices are after programmed in Merten software, transfered to Homseer with the button: Zwave-manage-Replicate recieve
Is there an easier way to do it?

Re: Adding new device in zwave network
@Wim,
There is no other option when using Merten modules.
Other problem is that not all the new devices are supported in the Merten software..

Re: Adding new device in zwave network
If you use the 2-gang Merten devices, will both gangs work if you use the Aeon stick as primairy?
Or are there problems with other zwave devices if you use the Aeon stick as primairy?

Wim, Enver,
Today I expanded my existing Merten / Homeseer with a few additional Merten z-wave devices.
I'm running into problems with the Merten battery devices (1-gang & 2-gang switches) when using the known import procedure:
1. Capturing device in Merten Connect Software
2. Creating associations if desired
3. When done with step 1 & 2, transferring the data from the Merten Software to the Merten Primary Controller device ("MPCD". In my case the MPCD is a battery-1-gang switch, sufficiently close located to my Homeseer server
4. Within Homeseer (and using the Aeon USB Stick); Tools->Manage Z-wave Controller->Replicate Receive
This procedure works well with non-battery Merten devices.
This procedure does not work for me with the Merten battery devices. Please see below some screenshots.
I've also tried within Homeseer to "Import Devices" and "Rescan Devices" (both functions within "Manage Z-wave Controller"). Not working.
I've also tried to wake the battery device when Replicate, Import or Rescan, but also not working
Questions:
1. Do you happen to know what I am doing wrong?
2. Shouldn't the PMCD also provide all necessary battery device info to Homeseer/Aon?
Versions
Merten Software 2.00
Homeseer 2.5.023
Thanks in advance for any tips.
Cheers,
Olof

Re: Adding new device in zwave network
The battery devices needs to be awake, when you import them to Homeseer.
Re: Adding new device in zwave network
Thanks for your response. I thought about this aspect also before. The battery devices needs to be awake, when you import them to Homeseer.
However, with which Z-wave function within Homeseer, given the fact that Homeseer is not the primary controller?
A. Tools->Manage Z-wave Controller->Replicate Receive? So quickly putting the Merten battery device in Learn mode (3x clicks) right after activating the Merten Primary Controller Device?
OR B. ....->Import Devices?
OR C. ....-> Rescan Devices?
I'm confused...

Re: Adding new device in zwave network
Homeseer is not my primary either.
When Homeseer receives the replicate receive, it prompts the new devices for information. If the device is asleep, it will fail.
Hence it just needs to be awake. It don't need to be in inclusion mode.
The problem is to make a battery device awake, at the time HomeSeer prompts.
I don't know how long the Merten devices stay awake.
I newer succeeded in making my QEES wall awake for long enough, but with other battery devices it works well. My PIRs as an example just needs a lot of movement.
I have tried the rescan, but I can not make it work. I think it should though.

Morten,
Ok, thanks for the added info.
I will try to pound on my battery devices during Replicate & Receive to what happens.
To be continued...

Re: Adding new device in zwave network
Did anybody fixed it? When I try to import my devices into Homeseer I get the same error. Failed to load basic informate....
Somebody has the trick to handle this problem? It doesn't work to click all the time on the battery device button.
Regards,
Kees
