[VERA3 vs AN158] : Failed at: purging associations

Post by xanhoera »

Guys,
my first experience with VERA3 didn't go smooth. Trying to add a (simple) Everspring AN158 device is stuck at "purging associations". The device never gets configured correctly, however ON/OFF does work correctly. The power metering does not work. In VERA the device is always red with the warning "failed at: purging associations".

I tried:
- resetting the AN158
- exclude/include (multiple times)
- playing with the parameter values 1,2 and 3 (I was desperate)
- bringing the device closer to VERA (< 1m) (VERA z-wave range does not go very far btw)

After a while I tried with another AN158 I had lying around, and this seems to work as expected (luckily). The device which VERA does not accept, did work with HomeSeer a while back. Should I just assume it is broken now, or am I missing some configuration?

Googling for the "purging associations" message returns similar problems, even with AN158 devices; however no solutions :(.

Gimme some tips ;)

1. http://forum.micasaverde.com/ <-- best site EVAH! For Micasa Verde Vera V3 questions
2. Patience!
2. Verify that the zwave controller is the primary in the network (Master SYS:no Pri: Yes)
3. If you remove a device, make sure it's turned off.
3. Patience
4. Adding the device requires patience. Perhaps the purge takes upto 10 minutes or a reboot of the device? I'm not sure. I've never had the issue. But I do know adding devices like the fibaro sometimes took me up to 2-3 minutes.
4. *cough* patience
5. I once had a small issue where it said it had the latest firmware version (254) but in fact it hadn't updated correctly (according to tech support). They gave me a link to the firmware to re-apply the firmware and that did the trick for me and the device worked smootly at that point:

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem!

Fibaro HC2, various z-wave switching, alerting, detection modules.
ELV FHT80b heating system.

Hi Xanhoera

You might want to try a newer firmware - MiCasaVerde have made big changes lately, You can always download the newest version here at etotal.eu's forum:

Patience did the trick. It was just sitting there trying to auto-configure for (over) 48h when suddenly I noticed status was green :-). Device is now working as expected.
