Fibaro HC2 Homeseer and plugwise
Fibaro HC2 Homeseer and plugwise
The HC2 is Fibaro's HCB.
This is a high end zwave controle box with very nice graphics an good zwave implementation.
Today I managed to control every Device and event in Homeseer via HC2
It' also possibile to controle Plugwise modules using the http get commands.

Re: Fibaro HC2 Homeseer and plugwise
How does it connect to Homeseer?
Re: Fibaro HC2 Homeseer and plugwise
Hi Enver,
Can I ask two questions:
1. Why would I (or anyone) want to use Homeseer & Fibaro's HC2 in combination? Aren't they meant to do the same thing, to be the controller for all of my Home Automation (HA) needs?
It just seems excessive to have 2 HA controllers linked together. What am I not seeing?
2. If I was to use the HC2 as my HA controller, does that mean I can get rid of my Merten Connect software?
Since I use Merten Z-wave devices and Homeseer , my set-up has to be: Z-wave Device (Merten and all other brands) --> Merten Connect Software --> Homeseer
Cheers,
Olof

As an addition to olof, can i still use rfxcom?
I ask this because i find homeseer to 'bewerkelijk' and userfriendly. I've looked at the video of the hc2 device and it looks userfriendly. In the video i see a lot of applications for which fibaro doesnt produce equipment (alarm, sprinklers). This gives me hope i can use my rfxcom, plugwise server on this device. I'm very curious! Are you going to review it?

Please review it!
There is no good English review of it.

I'm using the tenscript for controlling devices and events.xanhoera wrote:How does it connect to Homeseer?

There is option of virtual devices that makes possible to send http commands
At the moment the virtual devices can only be controlled from the web interface.
In the future you can also control them via events.

This can be interesting if you like to migrate form Homeseer to HC2.
Or just like to use them both since the zwave support of Homeseer is very weak
In scripting and plugin's is Homeseer number one.

Not at the moment..maybe soon since Fibaro is working on this topic. The biggest problem is the wallcontrol units.
Cheers,
Olof

It was just a basic test for me to see what can be done. And yes you can use Homeseer for control Rfxcom devices.Phaeton wrote:As an addition to olof, can i still use rfxcom?

Possibilities are very basic..
Very soon there will be API available. Next step is building plugins..
Plugins will give you more flexibility.

Re: Fibaro HC2 Homeseer and plugwise
do you mean you can use RFXcom on the HC2 instead of Homeseer in your poste above?

Yes that is what i mean
Re: Fibaro HC2 Homeseer and plugwise
Danfoss works fine with Fibaro HC2
I hope the probleem will also soon be fixed for Homeseer and Vera.
Usage with vera is possibile of you use scripting..
