Vera Lite Vs IO Homecontrol (somfy)

Post by pepe6859 »

Hello,

I just finished my first Somfy IO motor installation and working great!!!
I ordered the cheapest remote control because I just used it for set up and normal open/close operation. Next step before ordering more motors is to set the wifi controller but till now not sure wich one to choose.
I`m thinking to go with VeraLite instead of Tahoma from Somfy due to price and that my requirements will be not to much more than to be able to close the blindes from my mobile when away from home.

Thanks it advance for any help!!!!

Cheers,
Gerardo.

Is the Vera Lite able to talk "IO HomeControl"? (don't think so)

Hi,
apparently you can control Somfy (RTS) motors with the Vera Lite by means of a RFXcom receiver via the USB interface.

Just some other info:
The IO-Homecontrol uses bi-directional radio but apparently it's just not z-wave compatible.
But you can control IO-Homecontrol devices with the new Somfy TaHomA.

The new Somfy TaHomA uses Z-Wave®
There is also an interface converter called: Somfy Z-Wave to RTS INTERFACE (ZRTSI)
This thingy receives Z-Wave signals from the TaHomA controller and translates them into RTS commands for Somfy's line of RTS motors.
Can be used with up to 16 individual motorized products or 16 groups of motorized products.

Spoke several times to Somfy NL about this issue. In short there is no EU zwave somfy interface planned. Please buy our own somfy homecontrol tahoma system. No thanks to vendor lockin.

Maybe to late, but I found a nice (simple) sollution at a Dutch domoticashop
http://www.robbshop.nl/over-z-wave/z-wa ... _koppeling

Basicly you use a somfy remote And a fibaro 2*1,5kw switch.

Hello guys, have been a while since and I wanted to give you some info.

Finally I did not find any easy way to run Somfy I/O from any other controller but the one Somfy wanted mi to use. So I decided to change that Somfy Motor location to a place where no remote control is needed (I hided the washer and the dryer behind a shutter).
I have a Vera Lite working rock solid over Somfy cable operated motors + fibaro roller shutters, also dimmers and relay switches all around and growing!!!!!
Using virtual rain app Im planning to cut garden irrigation when meteorologic forecast says so.

Will keep posting!!!!
