Hmm, annoying is that the LAMPS switch on at full intensity when power is applied .... range seems to be OK.

This is also a nice site : The Unofficial Philips Hue Community

http://www.everyhue.com/

One question to you all...

What great things could you do with these lights?
(except illuminate things which is not that important ;-)

How do you use the extra functionality?
- Lamps turning blue on a new facebook update?
- Lamps changing color on motion detection?

Cheers

Flashing on:
- Incoming calls
- Incoming SMS
- Mail delivered
- Doorbell
- Ambulance in the area
- News in my city
- Chat (IRC, Google Chat) mentions

Also integrated the light settings into my livingroom "mode":
- Ambient
- Christmas
- Relax
- Party
- Movie

I've linked one of my desk lamps to change color to red whenever the elevator moves, that way one gets advance notification that somebody is coming ;)
