HS3, Powermax Pro and CM15 went bad. What now?

Post by mhn »

Hi.

I have a setup with HS3, Powermax Pro and CM15 that has been working for years (well HS2 a lot for the time). But now my CM15 has the M1 error witch seems to be a long known and unhandled HS3 error. Hence I cannot use this setup anymore. As X-10 is something of the past I would rather find another way of doing things than use ages on fixing X-10.

I only need alarm state and alarm on/off in Homeseer the rest is handled by RFXCom.

I have a RS232 module but as far as I can see the plugin newer got to HS3?

I own a Fibaro Universal Binary Sensor but can't find a way to use it with Powermax Pro.

Do any of you know the right way to go from here?

Hi Morten, a couple of thoughts: you may be able to use drule's serial/ip plugin to get data from the rs232 interface, or use an x10 universal module to pick up the signal from the powermax panel an then connect the output to the fibaro module. Not sure if there was ever a universal module release for the eu market, but the na version is still being produced: http://www.thehomeautomationstore.com/um506.html.

Cheers
Al

Edit: looks like um7206 is the eu equivalent and still available as well.

Hi Al. (How did your end up in Europe? :-) )

Thanks for the suggestions.

At the moment I removed the Wireless module from my CM15A because of a theory from Willem. ("CM15A disable wireless?" thread on HS forum.)

I hope he's right and my problems gone. But time will tell.

Hi Morten, I was born in Holland and can still read and speak Dutch, although it's getting a bit rusty (we moved to Canada over 30 years ago). I've been lurking here for a while, especially reading the Dutch forums for practice. I saw the thread on the HS forum, so hopefully that will resolve the issues.

Cheers

Hi Al.

Then you’re better off than me here. :-)

It's been two days without problems now. I am very optimistic.
