Read the PowerMax+ status

Post by kalimaro »

Hi.

A newbie question.
I want to read the status of my PowerMax+ alarm from my homecontrol system. I have tried to decode the TTL pulse train from the X10 output without success. Is there a known good way to do this.
I know i can use a XM10 controller on the powermax to send activation / deactivation codes to the powernet and read theese commends with a CM11, but i do not trust this method.
I would like to read it with the Serial interface directly or x10 interface directly...

What all others do ?

I know i can read the keyforb with the RXCom device, but then i would not get updated status if the alarm is deactivated on the panel.

Thanks for any advice.
Best regards

Hi Kalimaro,
I use Rfxcom Visonic Receiver for receiving all the Powermax devices, this works perfect! With the RFXcom Visonic receiver you can only receive the devices who are sending a wireless signal. When the alarm is set on no wireless signal is being send, so for alarm status you still need the XM10 or similar device. I use he XM10 for Alarm on or off and for seeing if the alarm is triggered.
In the past I tried the existing serial interface on the Visonic alarm panel as well, with no luck. The existing software is also only for setting all the parameters of the panel, there is no logging or monitoring function.

YESSSSSS..

I have successfully read the puls train from the Powermax with a BasicX24 and a D-Type Latch.

Can someone decode this train and tell me what x10 codes i sent from the Powermax (Just to confirm that i am on the rigth track) ( And the XM10 doc found on Marmitek is not very good :-D)
