problem with com verbinding powermax pro

Post by Akatar »

i own a powermax pro with a tag reader,
there is a gsm350 module and a powerlink2 module build in, now i ad a dual rs232 modul for the homeseer plugin, and here is the problem:
i can not connect with the powermax pro, i own the version with 1 installer code (9999). there a versions with two codes: 9999 and 8888
tried so far:
serial to usb convertor
serial to ethernet convertor
laptop with a normal rs232 port,
all no joy, no communication.

ideas are welcome

The only way that I can connect to my Powermax Pro is if I use COM 1, 2 or 3.
Anything above does not work for me!

I'm using a serial to usb convertor.

Give a low COM port a try.
Maybe you have the same problem?

Try taking the powerlink off. The plugin emulates one, so mu guess is the real and emulates plugins are conflicting.

Only the Powermax Plus has one COM port, the RS232 module for Powermax Pro's has two COM ports, the one on the left is to connect the Powerlink or a PC, the one on the right is to connect a PC. Be careful with the one on the left, this one feeds 12V to the Powerlink. When using a wrong connector (e.g. a RJ45->DB9 with all pins connected) will burn your RS232 interface. Only use the RJ45->RS232 connector that came with the RS232 module, this one has connected 3 pins only.

Have you already tried disconnecting the Powerlink2, as Phaeton suggested?

a bit strange that powerlink and rs232 can't work together.
