Visonic receiver: RFXCOM or Alphatronics

I would like to integrate the Visonic Next PIR's and the MCT-320 doorcontacts with Homeseer.

But what hardware solution is preferred? Should I choose the RFXCom + Visonic Receiver or the Alphatronics receiver.

What are the major differences between both solutions, and are the any drawbacks that I should take into account with either solution. Is e.g the response time similar, or is there a significant difference?

One of the differences I have already found is that the Alphatronics receiver is able to detect signal quality of the sensors.

Finally, I would also like to integrate the alarm panel with homeseer. Is X10 the only solution for this by using the Marmitek XM10?

Lot's of questions! :D

The RFXCOM receiver has also a signal strength indicator.
The alarm panel of the Homeseer RFXCOM plug-in accepts Visonic and X10 sensors mixed.

You can install the RFXCOM plug-in from the Updater and after that you will find the description of the RFXCOM alarm panel in the RFXCOM User Guide.pdf in the Homeseer docs\RFXCOM directory.

Thanks for the info. I will take it into account.

Anyone experience with both solutions?

Visonic sensors are preferred because:
They have a long battery life > 4 years
The sensor ID will not change if the battery is exchanged.
Anti collision transmit

What I actually mean is the preferred receiver technology for Visonic sensors; Rfxcom + Visonic slave or Alphatronics.

I'm curious which of the two receivers the users of this forum would recommend me to use.
