Video Door Intercom

Post by Sanka »

Hi,

I was hoping someone here could help me.

I'm looking for a Video Door Intercom system that can be interfaced to a PC. I have a touchscreen in the livingroom and I would like to use it to see who is at the frontdoor.

I've seen many sets that consist of a camera/pushbutton and monitor, but all I need is the camera and pushbutton interface. An ideal solution would be an vertical mountable, waterproof IP camera with some sort of I/O interface for a pushbutton, but I haven't found anything like that yet.

Marmitek has a doorphone with AV out

http://www.marmitek.com/en/catalogus/pr ... roduct=278

Quote from the manual:

<blockquote id="quote"><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" id="quote">quote:<hr height="1" noshade id="quote">The main monitor of the M229 system has an audio/video out. This connection makes it possible to
view camera images on a TV or video monitor. The M229 can also be connected to a recorder or
PC with video in. This function does not work with the built-in memory.

The AV OUT trigger contact is a NO (normally open) contact. When the monitor is activated, the
contact is closed. You can use this contact to e.g. start a VCR.<hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></font id="quote"></blockquote id="quote">You could use the AV out on a video capture card in your pc. And using the trigger contact fire of an event to show the video on your touch screen.

I'm planning to do this myself when the budget allows :). You could do it cheaper with just a contact and a cam but this setup would allow you to use all as just a normal video doorphone too.

Hi Remko
I have been looking for such a door camera as well, I don't think they are available yet and specially not in a small version. This is the solution I'm working on right now and hopefully online with a couple of weeks.

What i would really want, is a doorcamera with speaker + microphone. That when i'am not around, that it would use a voip service to call me, so i can listen who is at the front door and talk to that person.. (geeky , but fun)

I've read some discussions on the homeseer forum about the doorphone calling you. I'd like that one too :)

Hello Pieter,

Thanks for the info. I found an interesting door phone on the website you mentioned. I guess only the interfacing has to be figured out. If you have a solution I would love to hear about it!

Regards,

Remko.

Hello Pieter,

I haven't ordered one yet, but the first one on the following page looks interesting:
http://www.topprevent.nl/public_html/ca ... n%20Posten

The one I'm interested has Ordernr TPDOVIBP01.
Did you make a special interface circuit?
Regards,

Remko

Hi Remko,
It's possible that the internal circuit is the same. I have posted the adjustments I made to the original topic. The pictures and explanations are for the Kenwei KW-136M Pin-hole camera Which I use as doorbell camera and pushbutton.
So see topic http://www.domoticaforum.eu/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=347

Marmitek has a door opener too called DoorPhone120, no camera though. It does have an extra input, so you can send a signal with x10 for instance if the doorbell is pushed.
