Network USB hub with Linux (CentOS) support

Post by ludom »

Hi,

I am looking for a cheap network USB hub that can be used on a linux machine. I've used the Belkin Network Hub which worked perfect with Windows, but when i moved to a Linux server I never get this working because there are no drivers released for Linux yet (please Belkin!!!).

I need a usb network hub because my Linux machine is running inside a VM on a Windows Hyper-V server.

Can anyone tell me which usb hub might work on Linux? I did a lot of research on the internet but i haven't found a good solution yet, only the expensive ones like AnywereUSB etc.

I know there are lots of USB-redirect software packages (client and server) which i could use to redirect the physical USB-ports on my Hyper-V host to the virtual Linux server, but i have to fix this with hardware because my server is running on the attic and my devices are inside the fusebox or on other locations in the house.

Thanks!
Home-brewed HA system based on Linux, PHP5, MySQL and Beanstalkd
