Searching for a cheap thin client.

Post by phoenixb »

Hi,
Does anyone know if there is a thin client that is suitable for:
- Touch screens
- RDP (remote desktop)
- (option: Buildin Wlan)

And is a little bit low in cost.

Because i'm want to connect a touchscreen to my HStouch.
I like to hear it.
Regards,

Don't know if you already encountered the following, but it has some cheap (second hand) thin clients. But they are extremely cheap, so it's maybe an option to experiment a bit with those.

I don't have experiences with any of them. I did thought about the same setup as you. Connecting a thin client to a touchscreen, but it's a lot of work to create a good casing. That's why I bought a complete package (Shuttle X50 all-in-one).

I bought the HP thinclient (5720) from their a few weeks ago, it's great. They now only have the 5520 left but it's not that much difference.
It can run linux from USB stick fine, play h.264 movies on 720p even, and is running my webserver and HA for now.
